On September 4th, we obtained a new set of spy photos of the upcoming Leapmotor Lafa5 sedan from social media posts by Cao Li, Senior Vice President of Leapmotor, and Xu Jun (Tiger), COO. This new vehicle will make its official debut at the 2025 Munich Auto Show, which opens on September 8th.

Design & Features

Based on the official images, the Lafa5 uses Leapmotor’s family design language. It features a star-ring full-width light strip and a closed front grille for a modern, stylish appearance. The large trapezoidal air intake below the grille adds to the car’s sporty feel. It is also worth noting that, based on previous teasers, the Lafa5 will offer a choice of two intelligent driving solutions: a LiDAR-based option and a pure vision-based option.

The side profile shows hidden door handles, which help to further optimize the vehicle’s drag coefficient and improve its driving range. The rear of the car features a full-width taillight group, creating a visual echo with the front lights. The large rear spoiler also adds to the sporty feel of the vehicle.

Powertrain

Official details on the Lafa5’s powertrain have not been announced yet. However, we have learned from other sources that the car may share a pure electric powertrain system with the Leapmotor B series.
