On August 29th, AITO officially unveiled the new M7 at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show. The new model features AITO’s latest family design language for both its exterior and interior, and for the first time, offers both pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric (EREV) powertrain systems. For reference, the current M7 is only an EREV and has a price range of 249,800 to 329,800 RMB. Previously, Huawei’s HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility announced that the new vehicle will officially launch on September 23rd.

Exterior & Dimensions

The new M7 continues to use the “Kunpeng” family design language. It has a flattened front light cluster, a connected trim piece, and a circular LED daytime running light. In addition, a LiDAR sensor is integrated into the front of the roof. The new M7 is available in several exterior colors, including Island Blue, Coral Red, Black, White, Green, and Silver, with an optional “Obsidian” package.

On the side, the new M7 largely retains the shape of the current model, but adds semi-hidden door handles and chrome trim on the side skirts. As for dimensions, the new M7 measures 5080mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1780mm in height, with a 3030mm wheelbase. This makes it 60mm longer, 54mm wider, 20mm taller, and gives it a 210mm longer wheelbase than the current model, officially classifying it as a mid-to-large-sized SUV.

At the rear, the new M7 features a new full-width taillight design. The “AITO” badge has been moved above the light strip. The rear bumper adds silver trim pieces, and the EREV version retains its hidden exhaust pipes. Moreover, the new pure electric version adds an “M7 EV” badge on the bottom right of the tailgate to indicate its identity.

In addition, models with the optional Obsidian package will have blacked-out front badges, front fender trim, front lip, side skirts, and window trim. It also includes black five-spoke wheels and red brake calipers.

Interior & Technology

The new M7’s interior features a new design. The cabin uses light-brown materials, and a black trim piece connects the LCD instrument cluster, the 16.1-inch floating central screen, and the passenger display. The new car has the same three-spoke steering wheel and column-mounted gear selector as the AITO M8. The central console has been updated to include a wireless phone charging pad and two cup holders, along with wood grain trim.

The door armrests have a new design with button-style door openers. AITO’s official information indicates the new M7 will feature a “one-touch lie-flat” driver’s seat, a “boss button” for the front passenger seat, a rear entertainment screen, dual small tray tables, an in-car refrigerator/warmer, a streaming rearview mirror, and a HUAWEI SOUND audio system.

Intelligent Driving System

The new M7 will also feature Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4 driver assistance system. It includes one 192-line roof-mounted LiDAR, one rear high-precision solid-state LiDAR, 12 ultrasonic radars, 5 4D millimeter-wave radars, and 11 cameras. The front uses a three-radar array, while the rear has two corner radars. The new vehicle will debut an in-cabin laser vision solution that supports functions like Emergency Steer Assist (ESA) and general obstacle detection.
