We have just learned that GAC AION’s new compact SUV, the AION i60, will begin pre-sales on November 3rd. This new model is positioned as a compact SUV and will offer both range-extended (REEV) and pure electric (BEV) powertrain options.

New Design and A Larger Body

The AION i60 features a brand-new front-end design. It has slim, upward-slanting headlights connected by a central light bar. Vertical air ducts on the sides enhance its visual presence, while the front bumper retains a lower air intake.

Interestingly, the AION i60’s side profile and its 2775mm wheelbase are identical to the AION V. However, the AION i60 is significantly larger overall.

• This makes it 105mm longer than the AION V.

Despite the extra length, the i60 remains a 5-seater SUV. The rear of the vehicle features a full-width taillight design, and buyers can choose between 18-inch and 19-inch wheels.

Two Powertrain Options: BEV and REEV

The AION i60 will be available with two advanced powertrain systems, giving customers flexibility.

• Range-Extended (REEV) Version:
  • Uses a 1.5L engine (74 kW max power) as a generator.
  • Equipped with a 29.165 kWh LFP battery pack.
  • Offers a pure electric range of 160 km.
• Electric Motors:
  • The filing information shows that both the REEV and BEV versions will share the same powerful electric motor options, with a choice between a 165 kW motor or a 150 kW motor.
