On September 15th, BYD officially launched the 2026 Seal 07 DM-i. The new model comes in four trims, with prices ranging from ¥149,800 to ¥186,800. As a mid-cycle refresh, the new Seal 07 DM-i features an optimized front fascia and adds a LiDAR unit on higher-end trims. It is equipped with the DiPilot 300 “God’s Eye B-ADAS” with LiDAR and retains its 1.5L and 1.5T plug-in hybrid systems. Additionally, it now offers larger 17.6 kWh and 29.46 kWh battery packs, providing CLTC pure electric ranges of 135km and 230km, respectively.
التصميم الخارجي والأبعاد
The 2026 Seal 07 DM-i maintains BYD’s “Ocean Aesthetics” design language but with a simpler, more youthful front. The closed-off grille is more streamlined, and the new headlight and side vent designs create a cleaner, tech-forward look. The lower horizontal grille on the front bumper remains. Top-tier models will feature a LiDAR unit, giving the vehicle urban-assisted driving capabilities through the DiPilot 300 “God’s Eye B-ADAS.”
The car’s side profile is consistent with the previous model, featuring the Seal family’s flowing lines and an upward-sweeping stance. The characteristic shoulder line below the doors is also retained. At the rear, the through-type taillight maintains a unified design with the rest of the Seal family. The trapezoidal rear bumper adds a touch of sophistication with its chrome accents. The new model measures 4995mm long, 1900mm wide, and 1495mm high, with a 2900mm wheelbase. It is 15mm longer and 5mm wider than before. The new model adds a “Cloud Sea Gray” color option, bringing the total to four: Cloud Sea Gray, Warm Smoked Tea, Atlantis Gray, and Obsidian Black.
التصميم الداخلي والتكنولوجيا
The new Seal 07 DM-i offers two interior color schemes and continues the family design style. It features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch floating central screen, providing a strong sense of technology. The cabin also includes a four-spoke steering wheel, a column shifter, and a 50W wireless phone charging pad. Higher-end trims offer comfort features such as adjustable suspension damping and front/rear seat ventilation/heating (on the top trim). The vehicle also comes with a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, a four-zone voice interaction system, and, on the top trim, a W-HUD head-up display and a smart fridge.
Advanced Driver-Assistance System
The top-tier trim will be equipped with the “God’s Eye B-ADAS” with LiDAR (DiPilot 300), which supports Urban Navigation On-Demand Assist (CNOA). The other trims will feature the “God’s Eye C-ADAS” with three cameras (DiPilot 100). The latter supports features like Highway Navigation On-Demand Assist (HNOA), Automated Valet Parking (AVP), Intelligent Lane Change Assist (ILCA), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB).
Powertrain and Performance
The new car uses BYD’s latest DM5.0 technology. It offers two plug-in hybrid systems with either a 1.5L or 1.5T engine. The 1.5L engine produces a maximum power of 74 kW and 126 Nm of torque. The 1.5T engine produces 115 kW and 225 Nm of torque. The electric motor’s maximum power is 160 kW and 200 kW, respectively. The 0-100km/h acceleration times are 8 seconds and 6.9 seconds. The NEDC fuel consumption is 3.2L/100km. The vehicle comes with 17.6 kWh and 29.46 kWh battery packs. These offer CLTC pure electric ranges of 135km and 230km, with a 30%-80% charging time of just 20 minutes. Higher-end trims also feature the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, and all models come standard with the TSC High-speed Tire Stabilization System.
Market Competition
The new energy mid-size sedan market where the BYD Seal 07 DM-i competes is very intense. In terms of sales, the ARCFOX Alpha S5 has seen strong growth this year, thanks to its high value and rich features. However, it is an all-electric vehicle. Other competitors include the Deepal L07 and Geely Galaxy A7. The Deepal L07 offers both EREV and EV powertrains, while the Geely Galaxy A7 is a PHEV. Compared to these models, the new Seal 07 DM-i’s addition of LiDAR will give it a significant advantage in assisted driving. The design updates will also improve its distinctiveness. We look forward to seeing its market performance after the launch.
