At the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show, Changan officially launched the new Qiyuan E07, a mid-to-large-sized SUV. It comes in four models with a price range of ¥219,900 to ¥279,900. This new SUV offers both EREV and pure electric options. It’s the first vehicle built on Changan’s SDA architecture, and as a result, it can seamlessly transition between an SUV and a pickup truck. Furthermore, it focuses on digital and intelligent features. Notably, the Pro+ model now includes a CDC+ air suspension, and the Max+ model features a new dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
Exterior & Interior Design
The vehicle has a simple, full-bodied exterior design. First of all, the front grille integrates the headlights and a display screen that shows interactive patterns and lighting effects. Below the lights, you’ll find radar modules on both sides. In addition, a blacked-out lower bumper and side air ducts create a sporty, off-road look. From the side, the E07 has a muscular, clean design. By using simple design elements, it merges the styles of an SUV and a pickup. The roof slopes at a large angle, connecting with the pickup bed cover at the rear.
The vehicle measures 5045mm in length, 1996mm in width, and 1640mm to 1695mm in height, with a 3120mm wheelbase. The rear design is somewhat boxy and similar to the Tesla Cybertruck, giving it a futuristic feel. What’s more, the electric bed cover on top can open completely like a sunroof, converting the vehicle into a pickup.
The interior is minimalistic. It has no traditional instrument cluster; instead, driving information is displayed via a HUD. The car also features a 15.4-inch central screen with 2.5K resolution, powered by an 8155 chip. A hidden 12.8-inch folding screen above the passenger seat can be activated or folded away with voice commands, providing entertainment for the passenger. The interior is wrapped in high-quality leather, and it has dual zero-gravity Nappa leather seats that can be adjusted with voice commands.
Intelligent Features & Powertrain
In terms of intelligent driving, the Changan Qiyuan E07 comes with Changan’s self-developed advanced intelligent driver assistance system. It is equipped with 11 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 2 LiDAR sensors. Consequently, this system supports lane-keeping assist, blind-spot assist, lane-centering assist, automatic parking, valet parking, and highway navigation.
As for the powertrain, the extended-range EREV version of the Qiyuan E07 offers both a single-motor and a dual-motor option. It uses a 1.5T engine as the range extender with a maximum power of 105 kW. The single motor has a peak power of 231 kW, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version has a combined maximum power of 131 kW in the front and 231 kW in the rear. Both versions are equipped with a 39.05 kWh battery pack, providing an electric-only range of 200km and 180km, respectively.
Overall, the new Changan Qiyuan E07 is a versatile and innovative vehicle with strong potential in the global market. Its unique SUV-to-pickup functionality, combined with advanced technology and a competitive price, makes it a top choice for international dealers.
