Recently, we learned from official sources that the Hongqi HS6 PHEV will be officially launched on December 12.
Previously, the vehicle had already opened for pre-sale, launching 3 trim levels with a pre-sale price range of 178,800 to 228,800 RMB. The new car is positioned as FAW Hongqi’s all-new medium-to-large plug-in hybrid SUV. It is a brand-new model built on Hongqi’s “Honghu” (Swan) hybrid platform, equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid powertrain. It boasts a maximum pure electric range of 248km and a comprehensive combined range of 1,650km.
Exterior Design: Heritage and Grandeur
In terms of appearance, the Hongqi HS6 PHEV front face adopts the “High Mountain Waterfall” grille. This is the signature design language established by Hongqi in the internal combustion engine era, inherited from the iconic grille of the 1958 Hongqi CA72.
The design of the 12 chrome lines originates from the architectural structure of the 12 eaves pillars in the Temple of Heaven (Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests), looking exceptionally domineering. The smoked headlights, combined with the family-style chrome decorative strips below and the Hongqi LOGO decoration on the hood, create a visual effect that is elegant and luxurious.
Four body colors are available:
- Star River Black (Xinghe Hei)
- Snow Shine White (Xueyao Bai)
- Moon Grasping Silver (Lanyue Yin)
- Blue Night Mountain and Sea (Cangye Shanhai)
Dimensions and Body Features
regarding body dimensions, the new car measures 4925mm in length, 1970mm in width, and 1740mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2925mm. It is a 5-seater medium-to-large SUV. The new car also offers two styles of 20-inch wheels as well as frameless side mirrors.
At the rear of the vehicle, the style of the taillights resembles the Hongqi LOGO, offering a streamlined and dynamic look.
Interior: Smart Cockpit with Snapdragon Power
In terms of the interior, the new car adopts an embedded small-sized rectangular full LCD instrument panel, paired with a dual-color three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
The center console is equipped with a dual-screen design featuring a multimedia screen and a passenger screen. The screen size and resolution reach 15.6 inches and 2.5K, respectively. Internally, it is built with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip.
Powertrain: 3 Configurations for Maximum Range
Power-wise, the new car is powered by a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system. The engine’s maximum power is 110 kW. The motor combination offers:
- A 168 kW front motor.
- Or a 168 kW front motor + 201 kW rear motor (4WD version).
regarding the battery, the vehicle provides two specifications: 23 kWh y 40 kWh. The pure electric and combined ranges are as follows:
- 23 kWh (2WD): 148km pure electric / 1580km combined.
- 40 kWh (2WD): 248km pure electric / 1650km combined.
- 40 kWh (4WD): 228km pure electric / 1460km combined.
Intelligent Driving
In terms of driving assistance, the “Sinan” Intelligent Driving system is a vision-based auxiliary system. Functionally, it includes:
- High-speed Navigation on Autopilot (NOA).
