Max 710KM Range & Optional LiDAR: 2026 BYD Sea Lion 06 EV Arrives at Dealerships
I just received news from the dealer yesterday: the real 2026 BYD Sea Lion 06 EV has officially arrived at the showroom, with the new car expected to officially launch in March. As an annual refresh, this upgrade really packs a punch. It features a new 270kW rear motor, an upgrade to the e-Platform 4.0, and is equipped with a 900V architecture + Megawatt Flash Charging technology. Without further ado, I went straight to the dealership to take photos and share my real impressions with you.
Exterior: Sporty Design with Smart Tweaks
Looking at the exterior, the overall shape basically continues the current design. The front end features a diving, closed-off design, flanked by split headlights. The air ducts are accentuated with smoked trim, and the bottom features a dual-layer trapezoidal lower grille. It looks highly impactful and delivers a strong sense of sportiness.
If you look closely, you will spot some neat changes:
- The front trunk (frunk) now supports a “knock-to-open” feature—just knock twice, and it pops up automatically, which is super convenient.
- A physical button has been added near the front fender camera.
- The roof can now be equipped with an optional LiDAR. If selected, the car comes with the “Eye of the Gods B” system, which reportedly utilizes the latest large model version 5.0.

Side and Rear: Sleek Lines and Megawatt Charging
The side profile retains that solid, full fastback shape with strong, dynamic lines. Features like the floating roof, semi-hidden door handles, and 19-inch semi-closed petal wheels remain unchanged. The rear still sports the signature interstellar ring through-type taillight.
A notable addition is the new “Glaze Silver” body color, which looks fantastic under sunlight. You will also find a new “Flash Charging” badge on the rear, serving as the identity card for the Megawatt flash charging version. The official charging power is stated to reach 1500kW—a truly dazzling figure.

In terms of dimensions, the length, width, and height are 4810/1920/1675mm, with a wheelbase of 2820mm. It has the standard proportions of a mid-size family SUV, offering plenty of space.

Interior: Fresh Colors and Upgraded Tech
Stepping inside, the interior layout is similar to the previous version, but introduces a new “Twilight Blue” color scheme (replacing the former Obsidian Black) for a more refreshing look. The center console maintains its clean, wrap-around design, intersected by a large area of smoked trim.
The cabin features a full LCD instrument panel on the left, dynamic light-painting ambient lighting for the passenger on the right, and a 15.6-inch floating main screen in the center, complemented by a Head-Up Display (HUD). The infotainment system has been upgraded to DiLink 6.0 with UI optimizations. There is also a fun new “Magic Box Megaphone” feature that allows you to play quirky sound effects or broadcast messages outside the car using the external speakers—kids are going to love this.

Smart Driving and Premium Features
For smart driving, the car comes standard with the Eye of the Gods C system, supporting highway navigation assist and full-scenario parking, which is more than enough for daily use.

The equipment list is comprehensive. It retains the four-spoke steering wheel, electronic column shifter, hollow lower console with 50W wireless fast charging, a highly practical smart hot/cold fridge, and a 12-speaker Dynaudio system. It also features a panoramic roof with a sunshade, double-layer acoustic glass for the front, privacy glass for the rear, and a power tailgate. Notably, the front passenger seat has been upgraded to a zero-gravity seat with 10-point massage, significantly elevating the passenger experience.

Powertrain and Chassis: A Massive Leap
The powertrain is the absolute highlight of this upgrade. The 2026 Sea Lion 06 EV has swapped in two high-power rear motor options: 240kW (326 horsepower) and 270kW (367 horsepower). Compared to the current 170kW and 180kW options, this is a massive improvement.
Battery capacities have also increased to 75.6kWh and 82.7kWh, pushing the CLTC pure electric range to 620km and 710km, respectively. Supported by the 900V architecture and flash charging technology, charging speeds will see a dramatic boost.
On the chassis front, it features a front double ball joint MacPherson and rear five-link independent suspension, coming standard with the DiSus-C intelligent damping control system. It also includes the upgraded TBC high-speed tire blowout stabilization system, showing a thorough consideration for safety.

Expected Pricing
Finally, let’s talk about the price. According to previously leaked information, the 2026 Sea Lion 06 EV may launch in four versions: Pilot, Voyage, Flagship, and Voyage Flagship. The expected pre-order pickup prices are 160,000 RMB, 170,000 RMB, 170,000 RMB, and 180,000 RMB, respectively. Opting for the LiDAR system will cost an additional 10,000 RMB.
