[Official] New BYD Yuan Plus Specs Revealed: 650km Range & 230kW Motor
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the “23rd Batch of New Energy Vehicle Models Exempt from Vehicle Purchase Tax.” According to this official directory, the range declaration information for the new BYD Yuan Plus (known internationally as the BYD Atto 3) has been exposed.
Specifically, the new model will be equipped with a substantial 74.88kWh battery pack. As a result, it delivers an impressive CLTC range of 650 kilometers. Previously, this model had already completed its initial exterior declaration with the MIIT.
Exterior Tweaks and Architecture Changes
Based on the MIIT information, the new Yuan Plus is clearly a mid-cycle facelift version. Visually, its exterior design features minor, refined adjustments compared to the current model.
Most notably, the charging port has been relocated from the right front fender to the right rear fender. Consequently, this significant shift suggests that the vehicle’s underlying electrical architecture has undergone a major upgrade.
Regarding dimensions, the new car measures 4455/1875/1615mm in length, width, and height, respectively. Furthermore, it retains a comfortable wheelbase of 2720mm. Additionally, it features a front overhang of 888mm and a rear overhang of 847mm, alongside track widths of 1580mm (front) and 1585mm (rear).
Moreover, the vehicle offers 18-inch alloy wheels. Buyers can choose between two tire specifications: 215/55R18 and 235/50R18. Finally, the new vehicle has a curb weight of 1880 kg.
Upgraded Powertrain: 230kW Rear Motor
In terms of the powertrain, the new car receives a massive boost. It will feature a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (model TZ200XYC).
Impressively, this motor delivers a maximum power output of 230 kW. Coupled with the new 74.88kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Blade battery, it easily achieves its maximum range of 650 km.
