Official: Updated Xpeng G6 & G9 Launch Jan 8 with Chip Upgrades

On January 7, we obtained official images of the updated Xpeng G6 (medium SUV) and Xpeng G9 (medium-to-large SUV) from Xpeng Motors.

Notably, as facelifted models, their main focus lies in upgrading configurations, specifically the vehicle machine chips. Furthermore, officials confirmed that both models will officially launch on January 8.

The New Xpeng G9: Flagship Refined

Regarding the exterior, the new Xpeng G9 retains the main design of the current model.

  • Front: It features a “Star Ring” through-type light strip, a closed front grille, and narrow intake strips, giving it excellent visual recognition.
  • Rear: Similarly, the rear adopts through-type taillights, paired with a roof spoiler and the Xpeng logo, creating a good sense of depth.

Technically, referencing the current model, the G9 offers two power versions:

  • Single Motor: Delivers a maximum power of 351 hp.
  • Dual Motor: Delivers a combined power of 575 hp.
  • Battery & Range: Depending on the configuration, it carries 79kWh or 93.1kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. Consequently, the CLTC range options are 625km, 725km, and 680km.

The New Xpeng G6: 800V Efficiency

Turning to the new Xpeng G6, it also continues the “Star River” through-type LED daytime running lights of the current model. Moreover, the integrated uninterrupted design offers a strong sense of fashion.

  • Dimensions: The length, width, and height remain 4758/1920/1650mm, with a wheelbase of 2890mm.
  • Interior: The interior sees minimal adjustments, focusing instead on configuration upgrades. Key features include a double-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a 15.6-inch floating center screen, wireless phone charging, and dual cup holders.
  • Chipset: Significantly, regarding the multimedia system, the current Xpeng G6 utilizes the powerful Snapdragon 8295P chip, ensuring smooth interaction.

In terms of power, the entire G6 series uses an 800V platform.

  • Motor: The drive motor produces a maximum power of 218 kW.
  • Charging: It comes equipped with a 5C super-charging AI battery, achieving a peak charging power of 451kW.
  • Range: The maximum range reaches 725km.
  • Suspension: Finally, it features front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension.
