On October 14, we learned from Changan Qiyuan officials that its all-new Qiyuan Q05 will begin blind pre-orders on October 15th. This is a small pure electric SUV. Officials have clarified this is a different vehicle from the previously launched Qiyuan Q05. The two models only share the same name.
Design and Dimensions
The all-new Qiyuan Q05 adopts the brand’s Digital Flying Wing 2.0 design. This gives it good visual recognition. Its dimensions are 4435/1855/1600(1595)mm (L/W/H). The wheelbase is 2735mm. The company will offer the car in 5 colors. These include Pine Green, Flowing Gold Purple, Moon Silver, Cloud Shadow Gray, and Cloud Brocade White.
Tianshu Intelligent Driving Assistance
The vehicle will feature the Tianshu intelligent driving assistance system. High-end models will come with 1 LiDAR. This is complemented by 11 HD cameras, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. This hardware provides precise perception in all weather and scenarios. It enables Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) on highways. The system can intelligently handle complex operations like lane changes, overtaking, and navigating ramps.
Interior and Technology
The all-new Changan Qiyuan Q05 uses a wraparound cockpit design. It features a 15.6-inch 2.5K central screen and a 10.17-inch LCD instrument cluster. The car also has 256-color ambient lighting and 8 speakers. These features give the car a very technological feel. Officials also used soft materials on the instrument panel, door panels, and center console. This enhances the vehicle’s premium feel. Buyers can choose from Jade White or Ink Jade Black interior colors.
Platform and Powertrain
The all-new Changan Qiyuan Q05 is built on a new pure electric platform. It uses a 120 kW drive motor produced by Chongqing Tsingshan Industrial Co., Ltd. For the battery, the entire series will use batteries from CATL-Changan. Two options will be available: 40.29 kWh and 51.91 kWh. These provide CLTC driving ranges of 405 km and 506 km, respectively.
