We recently learned from Wuling’s official channels that the Wuling Starlight 730 will officially open for pre-orders on September 23rd. This new vehicle is based on Wuling’s new energy architecture, and therefore, it fully utilizes the “Heaven, Spirit, God” series of technologies. It will be available with gasoline, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric powertrains. Inside, it features a 2+2+3, 7-seat layout, making it an ideal family MPV.

Exterior and Dimensions

The new Starlight 730 will be available in four colors: Smoke Gray, Silver White, Obsidian Black, and Dusk Purple. The front features a large, blacked-out grille with a mesh design. Paired with narrow, elongated headlights, it creates a modern and visually striking look. The side of the vehicle uses sliding doors, with the rail hidden along the bottom of the window. On the other hand, the rear design is clean and simple, with a straight taillight design that echoes the front. In terms of dimensions, the car is 4910mm long, 1850mm wide, and 1770mm high, with a 2910mm wheelbase.

The Starlight 730 features a wrap-around cockpit with a 12.8-inch center screen that supports vehicle-to-internet connectivity. It also offers multiple modes for different scenarios, such as napping, camping, and “power-on after leaving the car.” The interior comes in two color themes: Walnut Brown and Warm Sand Brown. The car provides 25 convenient storage compartments, including a pass-through storage box for bags, map pockets in the front, and storage boxes in the back. Furthermore, there are also hooks for coats and a dedicated phone stand that supports 50W wireless fast charging. This design keeps personal items organized and the cabin tidy.

All seats can be adjusted in various ways. For instance, the front seats can recline up to 180 degrees, allowing you to lie flat for a rest. The second-row seats come with dual armrests and can be adjusted to multiple angles. The third-row seats support a 4/6 split-fold and have a maximum backrest recline of 127 degrees. In addition, the second-row aisle is flat, and the seat rails are flush with the floor, which gives rear passengers more foot room.

Powertrains and Battery

For power, the gasoline version is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 130kW. The plug-in hybrid version uses a combination of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power of 78kW. Conversely, the pure electric version is powered by a motor with a maximum power of 100kW. The pure electric model will be available with a 54.5kWh or 60kWh battery pack, providing CLTC ranges of 450km and 500km, respectively.
