The Yangwang U8 has received a new OTA update. It covers three models: the 2023 U8 Premium Edition, the 2024 U8 Off-Road Player Edition, and the 2026 U8 Premium Edition. Sentry Mode Adds Scheduling, Trusted Locations and Battery Limits

The vehicle now features custom scheduling and a “trusted locations” function for Sentry Mode. Users can schedule exactly when Sentry Mode turns on and off, and set trusted locations such as home or the office. The vehicle will not automatically activate Sentry Mode within these trusted zones, effectively reducing unnecessary power consumption while balancing security with battery range. This feature also supports a battery reserve threshold, automatically disabling Sentry Mode when the battery level drops below the set value.

e⁴ Interface Memory and Clock Widget Improve Cabin Controls

For the U8’s signature e⁴ system, the infotainment system now includes a memory function for the e⁴ 2D and 3D interfaces. Users can toggle between 2D and 3D views from the top-left corner of the e⁴ app, and the system will remember the page state upon exiting, restoring the previous interface the next time the app is opened—making operations smoother in off-road scenarios. A clock widget has also been added to the central display home screen, showing the time, date, and day of the week, with customizable placement for more intuitive time viewing while driving.

Infotainment Connectivity: Windowed Apple CarPlay for Parallel Multitasking

Apple CarPlay is now available on the U8. It uses a windowed layout. Navigation, phone, music, and messages open in separate small windows. They do not cover the whole central screen. Drivers can use CarPlay apps alongside the native infotainment system. This makes connectivity and multitasking easier. The update also adds a Smart Sound Field Focus mode. The system adjusts the audio sound field based on passenger seating positions. The God’s Eye ADAS app now has a quick feedback button. Drivers can report assisted driving issues faster.

Assisted Driving Safety: Off-Board Parking Alerts, Hands-Off Steering Wheel Reminders and Curve Overspeed Warnings

The vehicle also introduces an external voice alert if the doors or tailgate are not fully closed during off-board parking. If off-board parking is initiated while a door or the tailgate is not fully closed, the vehicle will issue a prompt through the external speakers to prevent parking risks. During assisted driving, if the driver’s hands are off the steering wheel for an extended period, the vehicle will decelerate to a stop while the seatbelt vibrates as a warning. A curve overspeed warning setting has also been introduced, providing both text and voice alerts if the vehicle exceeds a safe cornering speed.

Detail Optimizations: DiSus 3D Vehicle Model, Quick Controls and Other Convenience Updates

The OTA also improves several smaller features. The DiSus 3D vehicle model now uses a solid design and matches the real body color. The interface background also gets an update. Smart charging now includes 3D animations. The Dynamic Island adds a Soda Music icon. The bottom navigation bar adds a daytime position light switch to the headlight controls. For the 2026 Premium Edition, the vehicle remembers seat ventilation and heating settings after restarts. Drivers can also use voice commands to adjust the exterior mirrors.
