Front Illumination Design

BYD adopted its latest design concept for the Datang’s exterior. The front end displays a brand-new 2.41-meter through-type light strip. This strip uses a dual-line design. It pairs perfectly with an illuminated brand LOGO to ensure high recognizability. Designers arranged the headlights vertically on both sides of the closed grille. The crystal style highlights a premium feel. The lower bumper features a trapezoidal air intake design. The active air intake grille incorporates a folding fan element.

Regarding body colors, the new car offers five single-color paint options. Buyers can choose Obsidian Black, Distant Mountain Grey, Gold-Sprinkled Beige, Red Emperor, and Thousand-Mountain Green. The brand also provides three dual-tone color schemes. These include Red Emperor/Silver, Gold-Sprinkled Beige/Black, and Thousand-Mountain Green/Silver. Furthermore, the vehicle provides a 252L electric front trunk.

Body Size and Taillights

Moving to the side profile, the new car measures 5263/1999/1790mm in length, width, and height. The wheelbase stretches to 3130mm. BYD classifies it as a large SUV. The dimensions significantly exceed the Tang L. The vehicle rides on massive 21-inch wheels. At the rear, the new car utilizes Dynasty family-style through-type taillights. The overall lighting effect looks extremely dynamic.

Interior Styling and Displays

Inside the cabin, the center console introduces wood texture decorations. This design combines inspiration from ancient Chinese architecture. It highlights the warmth of a family car while maintaining a sense of luxury. The steering wheel adopts a brand-new style. The dashboard introduces a three-screen design. This includes a full LCD instrument panel, a floating central control screen, and a passenger entertainment screen.

The new car utilizes a 2+2+3 7-seat layout. The second row features highly comfortable dual zero-pressure independent seats. These seats include integrated leg rests. Diamond-shaped stitching enhances the premium feel. The seats support a one-touch lay-flat function. The second row provides a large folding screen, small tray tables, and a car refrigerator. Passengers can also electrically adjust the third-row seats. These rear seats include a heating function.

The new car will feature the “God’s Eye” 5.0 high-level driving assistance system. This advanced system supports both urban and highway driving assistance.

Regarding power, the DM-i model uses a single motor. This motor produces a maximum power of 300 kW. Its 1.5T engine generates a maximum power of 115 kW. The DM-p model carries front and rear dual motors. Each motor produces 200 kW, yielding a total motor power of 400 kW. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

EV Range and Chassis Tech

The Datang EV model offers three range options. Buyers get 800km, 950km, or 850km variants. The AWD version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The new car also features BYD flash charging technology. Finally, it utilizes the DiSus-A system. This includes a dual-chamber air suspension paired with road preview capabilities.
