GAC AION has officially unveiled the AION UT super, which is set to launch on November 9th. This is not just a standard refresh; it is a battery-swappable version of the AION UT, created in a unique partnership between GAC Group, battery giant CATL, and e-commerce leader JD.com.
The vehicle will be sold exclusively on the JD.com platform. According to reports, the estimated price is between 100,000 and 120,000 RMB.

2025 AION UT 420 Premium。
Design and Features
The AION UT super’s exterior design is consistent with the 2025 AION UT. It’s a 5-door, 5-seat compact hatchback. The main visual cues include a special tricolor car wrap and “four-dot” light sources in the headlights and taillights.



The car features semi-hidden door handles, blacked-out side mirrors, and 17-inch wheels (215/55 R17). In terms of size, it shares the same 2750mm wheelbase as the standard AION UT.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the layout is also familiar, with a dual-spoke steering wheel, floating instrument and central control screens, and a column-mounted gear selector.
However, GAC AION has confirmed some key tech upgrades. The UT super will feature a Huawei Cloud-powered in-car system. It will also include a “reverse sentry mode,” which can automatically brake for obstacles when in reverse and even stop if the accelerator is accidentally pressed instead of the brake. Other available features include a panoramic sunroof with a sunshade, ambient lighting, and power-adjustable front seats.



The 99-Second Battery Swap
The biggest news is the powertrain. The AION UT super is equipped with a 54.036 kWh LFP battery from CATL.
- Range: This new battery provides a 500 km range (testing standard not yet announced). This is a massive jump from the 330 km and 420 km options on the standard AION UT.
- Swap Time: GAC AION officially states the battery swap time is just 99 seconds.
- Motor: The car uses the same 100 kW motor as the 2025 models.
Market Competition
In the compact EV segment, the AION UT super’s primary competitor with battery-swap capability is the NIO Firefly (priced from 119,800 to 125,800 RMB). This new model and its unique sales strategy are a clear attempt to challenge NIO’s dominance in the battery-swap space.
