Alfa Romeo has officially unveiled the highly anticipated new Tonale. This launch marks a significant refresh for the stylish Italian compact SUV. The new model brings meticulous adjustments to its exterior and interior, giving it renewed vitality. The company plans to launch the updated Tonale in North American and European markets before the end of this year.

A Sharper Look: Exterior Upgrades

The official photos show that the exterior upgrades focus on the front fascia. The iconic “Scudetto” grille now features modern horizontal slats. Segmented air intakes flank the grille, and Alfa Romeo also restyled the lower bumper. These changes give the front end a more aggressive and expressive look.

New Colors and Wheels

The new Tonale adds three striking paint colors to cater to individual tastes. Buyers can choose from Rosso Brera (Red), Verde Monza (Green), and Giallo Ocra (Yellow). Additionally, customers can select an optional black roof for a sportier character.

The side profile maintains its classic short front overhang for a dynamic stance. A major highlight is the new three-spoke alloy wheels, paired with black brake calipers. This combination is exclusive to the Sport Speciale trim. The new Tonale will offer 18-inch, 19-inch, or 20-inch wheel options depending on the configuration.

Upgraded Interior and Tech

Inside, the new Tonale continues its pursuit of fine detail. The Sport Speciale version particularly stands out. It features extensive use of premium Alcantara on the seats, door panels, and center console. This creates an immersive driving atmosphere. Other changes include a new center console layout and a modern rotary gear selector.

Performance and Powertrain Options

The new Alfa Romeo Tonale offers different powertrain options for various markets. For North America, the company will likely provide only a gasoline version. This engine delivers 200 kW of maximum power and 400 N·m of peak torque. It connects to a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

In Europe, customers have more choices. These include a 1.5T engine with a 7-speed DCT (FWD) and a 1.6T diesel with a 6-speed DCT (FWD). A highly anticipated plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model will also be available.
