Large 5-Seat Layout: FAW-Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 to be Released on April 21
Recently, we learned from official sources that the FAW-Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 will be officially released on April 21. This new vehicle is positioned as a pure electric mid-size SUV. Specifically, it utilizes the advanced CEA (China Electronic Architecture) and the CARIZON intelligent driving assistance solution. Inside, the vehicle features a spacious 5-seat layout.
Notably, the AURA sequence will launch at least two models in 2026. Furthermore, the ID. AURA series will eventually cover a full range of powertrains, including plug-in hybrids (PHEV), extended-range electric vehicles (EREV), and pure electric (BEV) power.
Exterior and Design Language
Based on previously released uncamouflaged images, the front of the new car will be equipped with an illuminated brand LOGO. Additionally, the sides appear to have through-type decorative panels, which are expected to integrate a circular light strip.
Moving to the side profile, the vehicle features horizontal tangent lines and a semi-hidden door handle design. Consequently, the car is expected to achieve a highly efficient aerodynamic drag coefficient.
Advanced Tech: CEA Architecture and Smart Driving
Most importantly, the ID. AURA T6 is the first model built on the CEA electronic and electrical architecture. This system adopts a “central computing + zonal control” structural form.
Regarding smart technology, the vehicle’s driving assistance uses a brand-new high-end intelligent system. This system was created by CARIZON, a joint venture between the Volkswagen Group and Horizon Robotics. Moreover, the model will be equipped with premium hardware configurations, such as LiDAR and intelligent driving indicator lights (Blue Lights).
